I’m really excited about Dorothy Perkins‘ Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, which will slowly start hitting stores and the website over the next few weeks. And in the run up to new season drop, the Dorothy Perkins team asked me to share some of my favourite Pre Fall looks with you. The black and gold designs really caught my eye – blame the baroque trend seen at Dolce & Gabbana and Ralph Lauren – so I stuck to that opulent colour palette. Here are my top three:

The 100% cotton black dress is a great basic and will see through the entire season. Use it as the backdrop to bold accessories (I paired it with a seriously ancient heart pendant I picked up in NYC years ago) and rejoice, because it has sleeves! I know we’re all regularly complaining about the lack of sleeves in Autumn/Winter collections. Dorothy Perkins clearly listened…
I’m also loving the baroque pearl necklace. It’s not something I’d usually pick out, but paired with a lace shirt and black skinny jeans it looks pretty cool. Very Madonna Just Like A Payer.
And finally we have the black leather boots with gold block heels. I couldn’t resist this design and look forward to wearing them throughout Autumn/Winter. Right now I’ve been pairing them with my summer jeans (find lilac jeans at Dorothy Perkins) as I refuse to take them off…
