According to reports in The New York Times and The Daily Mail (guilty pleasure alert) Katie Holmes’ own label, Holmes & Yang, has been selling well ever since she divorced Tom Cruise. Before the split few people even knew about Holmes & Yang, but now Katie Holmes’ label has become the hot ticket at New York Fashion Week. It’s understandable, as the interest in Katie has skyrocketed recently, but are the clothes actually any good? I’ve tracked down the Holmes & Yang Autumn/Winter 2012 look book, so we can finally see what all the fuss is about…
As you can see there’s little to get excited about, but there’s nothing terribly offensive either – other than the cheesy mantras like “my sweetness is armed in leather” that appear in the look book. These are wearable designs with a focus on luxurious details, and I’m sure now there’s added interest in Holmes & Yang the label will progress further and streamline its image.
Currently you can find Holmes & Yang at Barneys New York, but expect more stockists to jump on board soon. Oh, and here’s Katie Holmes getting to work in the design studio…
Do you like the look of Holmes & Yang’s Fall 2012 collection? Would you wear Katie’s label? And how long do you think it will be until they release a handbag that’s named after Suri?
