Shailene Woodley’s Christopher Kane Dress: From Met Gala to Museum

This morning I was lucky enough to preview the V&A‘s exciting new fashion exhibition, Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950. You can expect a full review of the museum’s latest exhibition tomorrow, but until then check out this impressive fashion fact… On May 7th Shailene Woodley wore custom Christopher Kane to the Met Gala, and a week later it’s standing in the V&A, alongside designs by Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen.
The V&A museum curators clearly work fast! The exhibition also includes the dramatic Alexander McQueen gown that Daphne Guinness wore to the Met Gala in 2011. For some reason we weren’t allowed to photograph that specific dress – but that’s okay, seeing as I snapped Daphne wearing it last year… I was pleased to see it in person once again.
Were you a fan of Shailene’s Met Gala look? Are you happy to see it displayed in the V&A?
