August marks the fiftieth anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death and Vanity Fair have pulled a vintage Monroe portrait from the archives for their June 2012 cover. I personally wasn’t that interested in Marilyn Monroe until I read Donald H. Wolfe’s book, The Assassination Of Marilyn Monroe, last summer. Now I’m completely fascinated by Marilyn so will buy VF’s June issue.
It’s interesting that Vanity Fair didn’t select Whitney Houston for the cover instead, considering they have commissioned a “special investigation” into her death. Would you have preferred a Whitney cover this month? Or are you happy to see Marilyn Monroe covering the June issue?
