Christian Dior Haute Couture A/W 2011

It was always going to be difficult for Christian Dior to make a fresh start after John Galliano was dismissed from his role at the label, so I don’t want to be too negative about the fall 2011 Haute Couture collection. But I will be honest and say that I didn’t like it very much. Galliano’s replacement has yet to be named, so yesterday Bill Gaytten (the new creative director at John Galliano) and his studio assistant, Susanna Venegas, took the bow at the end of the show. Naturally it will take a few seasons before the French fashion house is back on it’s feet, but I hope the S/S 2012 ready-to-wear collection, which will show in October, will be a lot stronger.

What did you make of the Dior Couture collection? And which designer would you like to see at the label?
